What’s in Rory’s bag

Starting at the European Tour's BMW South African Open Rory McIlroy packed a very different line up, last played at the DP World Tour Championship in November 2016 where he was seen with TaylorMade woods, Nike irons and wedges, and a Scotty Cameron putter.

Driver: Callaway GBB Epic Sub Zero (9.5 degrees)
Shaft: Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage XT 70TX

Irons: Callaway Apex MB Prototype (4-PW)
Shafts: True Temper Project X 7.0

Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 (52-08 F Grind, 56-10 S Grind and 60-08 M Grind)
Shafts: True Temper Project X 6.5

Putter: Odyssey prototype with Microhinge Insert

Ball: Titleist Pro V1x (2017)

Currently McIlroy is playing without an equipment contract. During a recent interview at The Barclays, the four-time major winner hinted he could spend at least one year playing without a club and ball deal.

"I don't really expect to sign with anyone next year," McIlroy said. "I'd rather just have a year of going and playing what I want and being comfortable, and if I come across something that I really like and I'm really comfortable with, obviously I'll look to sign a longer-term deal."
