Laguna Golf Classic 2015 tournament hosted by world-renowned golf legend and  six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo last weekend had concluded with great success at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club with several exciting events – daily lifestyle cocktails, a Faldo Golf Clinic, Mercedes luxury test drive experience, and a club member, Mr Nguyen Trong Ngoc, winning the Hole-in-One prize of a shining Mercedes-Benz E200 worth USD100,000.

Over the two tournament days November 13-14, nearly 100 golfers competed over 36 holes in 2 rounds with separate divisions for male and female. In the morning of the 13th, world-famous celebrity golfer Sir Nick Faldo – also chief designer of the Laguna Lăng Cô golf course – led a fun one-hour Golf Clinic for all golfers to kick off the tournament. With his deep passion and enthusiasm for the game, he shared insightful golfing tips that inspired the crowd. This was the first time Sir Nick graced an amateur tournament here. After becoming the Brand Ambassador for Laguna Lăng Cô – the first and largest integrated resort in Vietnam – Sir Nick with his breathtaking course design has strongly put Laguna Lăng Cô on the world map, especially with the course garnering Top 10 Best Golf Resort in Asia Pacific and Top 5 Best Courses in Vietnam at the Asian Golf Awards 2015 in mid October.

Laguna Golf Classic 2015 also saw the very first Hole-in-One in a tournament at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club by Mr Nguyen Trong Ngoc – a member at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club. The tournament also brought many valuable prizes including a premium lifetime membership at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club and an indulgent Banyan Tree hotel, spa and golf holiday package collectively worth USD25,000 for the Best Overall Net Champion Mr Mai Dang Khoa.

Laguna Lăng Cô’s latest lifestyle residential project along hole 18 of the golf course - a Laguna Park townhome worth USD273,000 was also offered as a Hole-in-One prize. The weekend was also an opportunity for international and Vietnamese golfers to discover Laguna Lăng Cô as an ideal second home destination, with great interest generated for the Laguna Park Residences along the golf course and the Banyan Tree Residences – the most luxurious oceanfront hillside villa development in Laguna Lăng Cô.

The major prizes were presented by Sir Nick Faldo at the Gala Awards Dinner on the 14th. Sir Nick’s presence brought unique stories of his rich experience and amazing career to international and Vietnamese golfers, with his 41 professional wins including 30 victories on the European Tour.

“Laguna Lăng Cô is one of the most special courses in my career,” Sir Nick shared. “I certainly hope to support the development of golf in Vietnam, especially with my Faldo Series Asia Grand Final for young golfers to be held at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club in March 2017.”

Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club is fast growing a reputation as one of the most breathtaking and challenging courses in Asia. Ideally situated between the ancient capital of Hue to the north and Danang to the south, this rugged course overlooks one of Vietnam’s most beautiful bays. The thoughtful design plots its way through the changing landscape framed by mountain range on three sides and the East Sea to the west. The Lăng Cô golfing experience combines the unique environs of rice paddies, soaring trees, “blowout” areas, creeks, streams and dramatic rock outcrops on oceanfront footage.
