Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, honoured in the latest 2016 Michelin Guides, has 16 Michelin stars in 11 restaurants

Mandarin Oriental hotels have long been renowned for their excellence and innovation in food and beverage, and the Group’s passion for creating memorable dining experiences has once again been recognised, with ten restaurants being honoured to date in the 2016 Michelin Guides, bringing the current total number of Michelin-starred restaurants in the Group’s portfolio to 11 with a total of 16 Michelin stars. This is more than any other hotel group in the world.

 

Michelin Guide 2016

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

  • Pierre – 2 stars
  • Mandarin Grill + Bar – 1 star
  • Man Wah – 1 star

In Asia, the Group’s flagship property, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, was again honoured with a total of four Michelin stars awarded to three of its restaurants. Pierre, which features the bold cuisine of multi award-winning chef, Pierre Gagnaire, retained its two Michelin star status in the 2016 guide. Man Wah, the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant offering exquisite local and regional specialities retained its one Michelin star. Mandarin Grill + Bar, a Hong Kong dining institution, where artistic Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky serves a modern interpretation of grill classics and the city’s finest seafood, also retained its one Michelin star for the seventh consecutive year.

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

  • Amber – 2 stars

 

Amber at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, also maintained its coveted two Michelin star status. The restaurant features the innovative and exhilarating cuisine of talented Chef Richard Ekkebus.

Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo

  • Signature – 1 star
  • Sense – 1 star
  • Tapas Molecular Bar – 1 star

 

Three restaurants at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo retained their Michelin stars in the 2016 guide – the only hotel in the city to once again achieve this particular honour.  Tapas Molecular Bar where diners can experience the art of molecular cuisine, and Signature serving contemporary French cuisine, maintained their single star status. Sense, featuring contemporary Cantonese cuisine set against the city’s dramatic skyline, also maintained its one-star Michelin status.

Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona

  • Moments – 2 stars

Moments restaurant, at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is headed by the renowned chef Carme Ruscalleda and chef Raül Balam and retained its two Michelin star status in the 2016 Spanish Guía Michelin.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London

  • Dinner – 2 stars

Dinner at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London where Heston Blumenthal and Executive Chef, Ashley Palmer-Watts, serve historic gastronomy with a 21st century twist, also retained its two Michelin star status in the 2016 guide.

Mandarin Oriental, Milan

  • Seta – 1 star

In Europe, the Group is particularly delighted to announce that Seta at the newly-opened Mandarin Oriental, Milan has been awarded a Michelin star, just four months after opening. Executive Chef Antonio Guida has deep roots in southern Italy’s Puglia region and combines his knowledge of this region with influences gained from extensive stays in Tuscany and France. Together with the hotel’s passionate culinary team, Seta’s menu features dishes prepared with refined techniques designed to enhance the superb quality of the ingredients.  

Mandarin Oriental, Paris

  • Sur Mesure – 2 stars

Sur Mesure at Mandarin Oriental, Paris, under Chef Thierry Marx stewardship, has maintained its two Michelin stars in the 2015 Michelin Guide. The 2016 guide for France will be published in the first quarter of 2016.
