12 – 15 NOVEMBER 2015,

BY Miko Koh

Established in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair was founded in London by Will Ramsay. His aim was to make contemporary art accessible to everyone, and to show that you don’t need to be an art expert or a millionaire to enjoy and buy art. Since then the Affordable Art Fair has become a leading showcase for contemporary art, with 16 fairs taking place in 11 countries in 2015.

Over the past 16 years, more than 1.6 million people have visited an Affordable Art Fair and art sales exceeded S$480 million globally. Over 405,000 contemporary artworks were brought to loving homes, and 109 Affordable Art Fairs were held globally since 1999.

This year, the Affordable Art Fair Autumn 2015 expects more than 80 local and overseas galleries showing over 600 artists. 40% (32) from Singapore and 70% (56) from Asia and 30% from the rest of the world. 15% (12) of the galleries are exhibiting with the fair for the first time.

The fair will also showcase an inspiring Art Education Space with an innovative approach to learning including gallery-led discussions that aim to help visitors discover more about contemporary art in a fun and engaging manner, as well as new concepts such as live visual mapping of the education programme by artistic collective Band of Doodlers.

Whether you will there to immerse in the dynamism or to pick out a thing or two that resonates with you... it is curated for a great day out!

See you this November, at the Affordable Art Fair Autumn 2015.
