The Macallan, a name which is in a league of its own in the world of single malt Scotch whisky, is presenting its iconic Toast The Macallan event for the second time. After its inaugural success, Toast The Macallan returns with an augmented presence over five days at The Black Swan, where a deeper and more intimate connection with The Macallan can be experienced in a timeless and classic Art Deco ambience set in The Black Swan. The enduring journey of The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks, natural colour and distinctive aromas is relived in this space which will be magically transformed into The Macallan Restaurant and Bar over the event period, with each area designed specifically for a unique experience, perfected with a specially curated gourmet journey complete with whisky pairings for the refined palate, exclusive whisky flights for intimate tasting sessions and thematic, handcrafted cocktails. Fans can also look forward to the launch of The Macallan’s Edition No. 1 at this year’s Toast The Macallan.
After the private event launch on 30 March, the series of ticketed events will be held over four days from 31 March till 3 April 2016, hosted by The Macallan Brand Trainer Keith Krsna Nair, The Macallan Brand Advocate Randall Tan and Singapore’s noted name in the alcohol industry, Gerald Lu, who is an award winning tastemaker and sommelier. Executed in the form of a restaurant bar takeover, guests will be immersed in the fully transformed Black Swan space through a multi-sensory journey in the world of The Macallan, including a specially created decompression room set in a forest environment in The Powder Room for neutralization of the senses to prepare the palate for whisky tasting.
“With the increased market interest in single malt Scotch whisky across Asia, Toast The Macallan is the perfect platform to forge a deeper connection with The Macallan and ignite passion amongst the aspirational whisky consumers, including the uninitiated. This year’s event format is designed to be radically different from the previous year’s, to enable the guests to enjoy The Macallan at a more personalised, intimate level with more meaningful insights to be gained,” said Geoff Kirk, Managing Director of Edrington, South East Asia.
