We are excited to announce the new, Bumbu: The Original Craft Rum. Delicately blended in small batches in Barbados, the original “rum island” where rum was first created over 400 years ago, Bumbu is an exquisite all-natural craft rum made with the finest Caribbean ingredients.
The story of Bumbu dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when sailors and merchants of the West Indies added Caribbean fruits and spices to their rum to enhance its flavor, calling it “Bumbu.” Today, we use the same recipe – an authentic expression of this true Caribbean legend.
Each sip of Bumbu evokes a journey through Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana and Honduras – the eight countries where our sugarcane crops are sourced from locally sustainable farms for use in our unique blend. Distilled using Barbados’ pure, coral-filtered water at our historic distillery (founded in 1893), Bumbu is aged up to 15 years in oak bourbon barrels to achieve an effortlessly smooth and balanced rum with complexity and depth.
The rich and complex aromas of Bumbu include Madagascar vanilla, soft caramel and toasted oak. On the palate, layered notes of cinnamon, roasted nuts and allspice blend with mild sweetness and an exceptionally smooth finish. Experience Bumbu straight, over ice or mixed into your favorite cocktail or punch.
